Concert work meets folk music meets theater. A busker (one who performs on the street for money) from America travels to Austria to get away from his stagnant life in the states. The trip untethers him perhaps a little too completely, however, as he slowly loses grip with the life he used to have. His folk melodies interweave with a string quartet who elaborates his ideas, as well as feeding their own into his songs. Movement subtitles were inspired by graffiti viewed throughout Austria during the writing of this piece.
